George Shea has been in the firm since 1988 and a
partner since 1992. Mr. Shea is a graduate of Michigan State University
(Cum Laude, 1974) and Wayne State University Law School (Cum Laude,
1988). Before receiving his law degree, he worked at Williams
International, Inc., where he was a Contract Manager, responsible for
negotiating and implementing multi-million dollar contracts with the
U.S. Department of Defense and with other aerospace companies.
Mr. Shea's practice focuses primarily in four
areas: real estate on all levels, from residential home purchases to
subdivision/condominium development; estate planning, including wills
and trusts; buying, selling, or starting businesses; and litigation of
all types, including construction disputes, contract matters, and
probate contests. He is also qualified as a case evaluator for
commercial cases at the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal.
In conjunction with the estate planning practice,
Mr. Shea has developed a unique video brochure, a ten-minute DVD that
explains the basics of estate planning: what it is, what tools are
available, how it can help you to plan for the future. For a copy of
the video brochure, feel free to contact him.
Mr. Shea is also deeply involved in his community.
He recently served as the Chairman of the Plymouth/Canton Education
Excellence Foundation. He is also active with the Madonna University
Hospice Education Program, and the Canton Community Foundation. He is
also a founding director of Christmas in Action, an organization that
performs home repairs for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners in
Canton. In addition, he has coached youth soccer in Plymouth for a
dozen years.
