After serving as the managing partner for many
years, William R. Brashear is now of counsel to Creighton McLean
& Shea PLC,
maintaining a very significant estate planning law practice. Son of one
of the firm's original founders, Mr. Brashear has been with the firm
for over forty-four years.
Mr. Brashear was admitted to the Michigan Bar in
1957. He received his Bachelor's, Master's and Law Degrees from the
University of Michigan. He also attended Princeton University,
receiving a Master's and Ph.D. in English Literature (1959). At
Princeton he was a Fellow of the Council of the Humanities.
Over the years he has practiced in many areas,
including extensive litigation and appellate work. He has practiced in
the United States District Courts, the Court of Appeals for the Sixth
Circuit and Michigan Supreme Court. He is a Fellow of the Michigan
State Bar Foundation and a life member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial
Conference.
